Yorkshire vs Derbyshire

Derbyshire Falcons registered their first win in the T20 Blast (North Group) by defeating Yorkshire Vikings by nine wickets.

The match was delayed by two hours as the Headingley Stadium in Leeds got peppered by rain. Once the weather cleared, the Falcons won the toss and opted to field first in an 8-over game.

Australia's Hayden Kerr gave the perfect start to Derbyshire by snaring two wickets in the first over. Adam Lyth went back on a golden duck, and Shadab Khan returned for 1.

Dawid Malan's excellent knock of 50 (23 balls) took Yorkshire's total to 83/3. Derbyshire began their chase steadily, with Shan Masood accompanied by Luis Reece.

A run-out ended Reece's stay in the middle. However, Masood and Wayne Madsen ensured no further damage and scaled down the total with three balls to spare.

Madsen struck three boundaries and two sixes in his unbeaten knock of 39 and steered his side to a convincing win.

Brief Scores: Derbyshire 84/1 (7.3 overs)

Wayne Madsen 39*, Shan Masood 32*;

Yorkshire 83/3 (8 overs)

Nottinghamshire Outlaws suffered an 87-run loss at the hands of Lancashire Lightning, the heaviest defeat in their history of the Vitality T20 Blast.
