T20 Blast 2022 | HAM vs MDX | Preview, Prediction, Squads

The 10th match of the Vitality T20 Blast 2022 will witness the two teams from the south group, Hampshire and Middlesex, clashing against each other. The Rose Bowl, Southampton, will play host to the game, scheduled on May 27 (Friday).

Hampshire enjoyed a decent campaign in the tournament's last edition as they managed to reach the semi-final. However, they were eventually knocked out by Somerset in a close encounter.

This time around, their skipper James Vince would be in command of the new-look side. Two overseas recruits, Ben McDermott and Nathan Ellis have joined them for the season and are available for tomorrow's fixture.

On the other hand, Middlesex will head to the tournament on the back of poor form last season. Winning four out of 14 games, the side ended at the eighth spot on the points table.

They are scheduled to face Gloucestershire first and then turn their attention towards Hampshire.

Talking about the new moves, the captain of the ship is now Stephen Eskinazi, who took over the leadership reins from the World Cup-winning captain Eoin Morgan. Although Morgan will make the starting playing XI, his form lately has been a major concern.

Chris Green will act as the lead spinner until Mujeeb-ur-Rahman joins the squad. Luke Hollman is another quality option available in the spin department.

Jason Behrendorff will not be available for the first few games as he is still in India, busy playing the IPL.

Pitch Report: Traditionally a batting-friendly track, the pitch of The Rose Bowl, Southampton, will have little to no help for the bowlers. The pacers can extract some purchase in the early overs, but it will likely be the batters' day all the way.
