As the IPL 2024 season reaches the cusp of conclusion, Punjab Kings are facing another setback as their star all-rounder, Liam Livingstone has opted to leave India before time in order to get his knee 'sorted' before the T20 World Cup begins.

Over the course of last two years, Livingstone has suffered from a series of injuries because of which he missed out on two games at the beginning of the IPL 2024 season after he hurt himself during PBKS' game against LSG.

He then made his return against RCB, however Punjab lost to them too thereby becoming the 2nd team to be eliminated from IPL. In his Instagram post, he announced that he will be leaving India soon in order to completely recover from his knee injury.

However, as per ESPN his injury is not too serious and it would not put his and ENG's T20 WC prospects in jeopardy. He needs to rest before England's T20Is later this month against  Pakistan.

Here's what he said:

"IPL done for another year, had to get my knee sorted for the upcoming World Cup. Thanks once again to the Punjab Kings fans for all their love and support. Disappointing season as a team and personally, but as always I loved every minute of playing in the IPL"

Livingstone himself has had a very 'disappointing' season so far, with just 111 runs at 22.20 in seven innings and just three wickets in 12 overs, he would look to bounce back.

Meanwhile, Punjab Kings have had a lacklustre season, having four wins and eight defeats from their 12 games.
