Shahid Afridi backs India to do well in the T20 World Cup 2022

England picked up a 17-run win over India in the third T20I despite Suryakumar Yadav's rebellious hundred. However, the Rohit Sharma-led side still claimed the three-match series 2-1 courtesy of convincing wins in the first two games.

The recently-concluded series also served as a formidable test for both sides as they head into the T20 World Cup later this year.

The 'Men in Blue' are set to compete in several 20-over games ahead of the main event, with their immediate assignment being a five-match series in West Indies and a potential Asia Cup in Sri Lanka.

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi recently took to Twitter and praised India's series-clinching performance in England. With T20 World Cup just three months away, Afridi wrote that India played 'outstanding cricket' and were deserving winners in the England series.

He also labelled Rohit Sharma's side as one of the favourites to lift the ultimate T20 title in Australia this year.

The legendary all-rounder wrote: "India have played outstanding cricket and deserve to win the series. Really impressive bowling performance, they'll surely be one of the favourites for the T20 World Cup in Australia".
