Shafali and Harmanpreet gain big in the latest Women's ODI Players Rankings

On July 5 (Tuesday), the International Cricket Council released the updated Women's ODI Player Rankings. 

The star players of the Indian Women's team, Shafali Verma and Harmanpreet Kaur have been rewarded for their impressive performances in the ongoing limited-overs tour to Sri Lanka. 

Verma is the top scorer in the bilateral series, with 106 runs at an average of 106. Her latest knock of 71* helped the visitors to secure a 10-wicket victory and lead the series 2-0. 

The 18-year-old has leapt 12 places to mark her presence in the 36th spot of the ODI Rankings. 


The all-rounder Sharma has scalped five wickets in the ongoing 50-overs series at an economy of 3. She has jumped from 19th to 16th place in the bowlers' rankings with her match-winning performance. 


The experienced spinner Rajeshwari Gayakwad has climbed one spot to be at 11th position in the rankings. She has a solitary wicket at an economy of 3. 


The white-ball skipper of the Indian team, Kaur, has jumped eight places to grab the 24th spot in the all-rounders' rankings. In three appearances, the 33-year-old has garnered 92 runs at an average of 92, and finished with figures of 1/13 in seven overs, in one of the fixtures. 


Mixed bag for Sri Lanka players

 

The talented Lankan spinner Inoka Ranaweera has jumped five positions to sit in the 21st position in the bowlers' rankings. She has picked up four wickets at an economy of 5.06, with the best figures of 4/39. 


On the other hand, Sri Lanka skipper Chamari Athapaththu has scored only 29 runs in two games and has been downgraded from 8th to 10th in the batting rankings.
