Sehwag and Pathan brothers confirm their participation in Legends League 2022

After the phenomenal success of the first edition of the Legends League Cricket(LLC), the organizers have decided to conduct its second edition in Muscat from September 20 to October 10. 


In a significant improvement, the former Indian internationals Virender Sehwag, Irfan Pathan and Yusuf Pathan have confirmed their participation in the aforementioned tournament. 


In his reaction, Sehwag admitted to being disappointed in missing the opportunity to play the inaugural edition of LLC. However, the legendary Indian opener also expressed happiness at returning to action with the tournament’s second season. 


“I love to be in the cricket field. I missed the first season of LLC but it would be great to go back into the field with the LLC season 2,” Sehwag said. 


The ex-Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan also admitted to being thrilled for the upcoming season of LLC. The dynamic southpaw further asked his fans to watch out for something exciting from his side in the tournament. 


“Excited to announce that I’ll be back in action playing LegendsLeagueCricket in September. Aur iss baar kuch naya bhi hone wala hai…so I am really looking forward to being in Oman,” Irfan said. 


On the other hand, Irfan’s elder brother Yusuf Pathan revealed that he has been spending a lot of time in the nets to finetune his skills ahead of the four-team tournament. Yusuf, who represented India in 79 international matches, also disclosed that he enjoyed the previous league season. 


“Practice makes you perfect. And I’m perfecting my shots for action packed season 2 of the Legends League Cricket,” Yusuf said. “It was fun in January, and I am getting ready for September,” he added. 


The commissioner of LLC, Ravi Shastri, also seemed to be in a pleasant state on the resumption of the tournament. Terming the league as the carnival of legends, Shastri expressed his immense desire to watch the legendary cricketers play in it.  


“The Carnival of Legends is back. Top Cricketers from around the world would be seen coming together,” Shastri said. “These players have contributed immensely to cricket throughout their career. I am looking forward to watching them play the Legends League Cricket second season,” the former India coach concluded.
