On Sunday, Rohit Sharma, India’s captain, was spotted practising at the nets of the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. This intense training session comes as preparation for the upcoming three-match Test series against New Zealand, starting on October 18. With Rohit having recently retired from T20Is, his focus is now fully on leading India in Test cricket. He is riding high after guiding the team to a 2-0 series win over Bangladesh.

The first Test between India and New Zealand will kick off on October 16 in Bengaluru, followed by matches in Pune and Mumbai. Rohit’s arrival in the city marks the beginning of serious preparations as India eyes another dominant Test performance.

Rohit Sharma's leadership has brought a fresh sense of determination to Team India. He has displayed a knack for keeping his team calm even in challenging situations. A perfect example of his captaincy brilliance was during the second Test against Bangladesh, where India staged a stunning comeback to seal a whitewash.

Rohit Sharma Eyes Clean Sweep to Boost WTC Final Hopes

With New Zealand now posing a more formidable challenge, Rohit and his squad will aim for a clean sweep, as each win could bring them closer to a spot in the World Test Championship (WTC) 2024-25 final. His efforts in Bengaluru reflect the seriousness with which the team is approaching this series.

After the series with New Zealand, India will head on to high-stakes five-Test series against Australia between November 2024 and January 2025. While reports suggest Rohit may miss one of the early matches in Australia due to personal reasons.

The series will begin on November 22 in Perth, with the highly anticipated day-night Test scheduled for December 6 at Adelaide Oval. The Boxing Day Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground from December 26 to 30 is another exciting highlight, and the tour will culminate at Sydney Cricket Ground in early January 2025.
