Rohit Sharma becomes the highest run-scorer in T20Is

India clinched a comfortable 68-run win over West Indies in the first T20I clash between the two sides yesterday. The Men in Blue registered a 1-0 lead in the series with the victory.

Star batter Rohit Sharma produced a vital knock to lay the foundations for the rest of the side. 

Sharma scored 64 runs from 44 balls to give India the start they needed and he was ably supported by the likes of Suryakumar Yadav and Dinesh Karthik. 


Rohit Sharma achieves yet another record

The Indian star has now surpassed New Zealand batter Martin Guptill to become the highest run scorer in the shortest format of the game. 

Sharma has 3443 runs to his name from 129 matches, comprising 27 half-centuries and four centuries. 

Meanwhile, Guptill has 3,399 runs in 116 matches and Sharma's compatriot Virat Kohli sits third in the run scoring charts with 3,308 runs to his name in 99 matches.

The Men in Blue have a lot to be excited about, heading into the T20I World Cup later this year in Australia.
