Ravindra Jadeja overtakes Bumrah to become the most successful bowler against RCB

Over the years, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper, Ravindra Jadeja, has been the chief nemesis for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). The star all-rounder has become the most successful bowler against the Bangalore-based franchise in the IPL.

Jadeja has twenty-six wickets to his name against RCB. He is closely followed by Mumbai Indians’ Jasprit Bumrah (24 scalps) and former left-arm pacer Ashish Nehra (23 wickets). 

The left-arm orthodox bowler reached this milestone on Tuesday as he returned with figures of 3-39 (off his four overs). His spell was vital in the context of the game as he prized out the important wicket of Glenn Maxwell. 

Maxwell had provided the much-needed impetus to RCB’s chasing endeavours. With Chennai setting a humongous target of 217, Maxwell had raced to 26 off 10 balls. Jadeja eventually broke RCB’s backbone by knocking off the Australian batter’s stumps. 

CSK notched up their first win of IPL 2022 to open their account after five matches. The foundation of the victory had been laid by a memorable partnership of 165 runs between veteran Robin Uthappa (88) and Shivam Dube (95*). 

CSK’s bowlers finally came to the party as RCB fell short by 23 runs. Sri Lanka’s off-spinner Maheesh Theekshana emerged as the star performer with the ball as he picked up four wickets. And he was well supported by his captain Jadeja, who now has the most scalps against RCB.
