Mumbai all-rounder Shivam Dube and the side’s video analyst have tested positive for Covid-19.
“Yes, the two have tested positive for Covid-19 and Sairaj Patil has been named as Dube’s replacement,” a source told PTI on Monday.
Dube has now been replaced by Sairaj Patil in the team. Mumbai are slated to begin the campaign against Maharashtra on January 13.
Dube has played an ODI and 13 T20Is for India while has featured in 16 First-class matches where he has scored 1021 runs at an average over 48 and has 40 scalps to his name.
Earlier, several Bengal players had tested positive fo Covid-19 as well.
“Keeping in mind the current pandemic situation, the Cricket Association of Bengal had conducted RT-PCR Tests of all Bengal cricketers as a safety measure,” CAB Secretary Snehasish Ganguly was quoted as saying by The Indian Express.
