'Play Haris Rauf in T20I matches only' - Ramiz Raja to Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim

The Pakistan Cricket Board President Ramiz Raja has been proactive in sharing his thoughts on the form of the team and is often seen as more than interested in working on improving the country's sports infrastructure.

If the reports are to be believed, Raja has opined on the fast bowler Haris Rauf's performance in the 1st ODI against West Indies on 8 June (Wednesday) at Multan. 

In his full quota of 10 overs, Rauf picked up four wickets but ended up conceding 77 runs. 

Raja has interacted with Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim and instructed him to pick Rauf only in T20Is until the fast bowler has improved his accuracy in terms of line and lengths. 

"Tell Haris to learn how to bowl at an accurate line and length. Select him for ODIs when he has improved this area of his bowling," Raja was quoted as saying by sources.

"Play Haris in T20I matches only till he has improved his line and length," he added.

The PCB Chief also felt that their production quality in the series' ongoing matches needs to be better than the one in the Indian Premier League. 

"Our production of matches is not at all good as compared to the Indian T20 league," Raja told some members of the production crew.

"Please make sure that the production of remaining matches is better," he further added. 

At the end, the former Pakistan batter gave a hint on the career of former captain Sarfaraz Ahmed being nearly over, with youngster Muhammad Haris making his ODI debut in the 1st match against West Indies. 

"We have a new wicketkeeper-batter in the shape of Muhammad Haris. It seems that the career of Sarfaraz Ahmed is almost over," Raja told Chief Selector Wasim.
