PCB unveil bumper schedule for men's and women's team for 2022/23 international season

On Friday, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled a packed schedule for both men's and women's team for the 2022/23 season.

In a bumper season for the men's team, which will start in June, the Babar Azam-led unit will play a total of 7 ICC World Test Championship Tests, 17 ICC Cricket World Cup ODI Super League matches, 15 T20Is, T20 Asia Cup and the ICC T20 World Cup, which will take place in Australia later this year.

Pakistan will host the West Indies in a series of three ODIs in June. They will then travel to Sri Lanka in the month of July and August to lock horns in a couple of Tests and three ODIs.

The Men in Green will then tour the Netherlands to play three 50-over games in August before featuring in the T20 Asia Cup.

England will return to Pakistan after a gap of 16 years in September to play as many as 7 T20Is. They will then return in November to take part in three Test matches.

Between these two rubbers, both sides will travel to Australia to participate in the T20 World Cup, which will take place between October 15-November 15.

After England, it will be the turn of New Zealand to complete the tour that they abandoned last year due to security reasons. They will play a couple of Tests and three ODIs in December-January before returning for another series of white-ball internationals (5 ODIs + 5 T20Is) in April 2023.

In January 2023, the West Indies will again return to the Asian country to play 3 T20Is.

Bumper season in line for the Women's team

Like the men's team, the Pakistan women's team also has a series of assignments lined up in the upcoming 12-15 months.

The season will begin in late May when they host Sri Lanka for 3 ODIs and as many T20Is.

After this series, the Women in Green will travel to Ireland to feature in a T20I tri-series and then the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, which will take place between July 25-August 08.

Post this; there will be a two-month break. After the rest, the women's team will participate in the T20 Asia Cup. The venue for the same is yet to be decided.

Following the Asia Cup, the Irish team will travel to Pakistan to participate in 3 ODIs and as many T20Is. They will then travel to Australia to lock horns with the world champions in six white-ball internationals, after which they will move to South Africa to participate in the T20 World Cup (February 02-26).
