Pakistan have announced the T20I and ODI squads for the home fixtures against West Indies. The selectors have left out seamer Hasan Ali and wicket-keeper batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed for the 6-match white-ball series while Shoaib Malik and Imad Wasim haven’t been included in the T20I squad.
The side would be led by Babar Azam while Shadab Khan will be his deputy.
“As we have been playing T20Is since October and now have a pretty settled and balanced side, we have decided to reduce the number of players to 15. As such, we have not included Imad Wasim, Sarfaraz Ahmed and Shoaib Malik,” said chief selector Muhammad Wasim.
Talking about Hasan, the chief selector insisted that the right-arm bowler has been playing non-stop cricket since his return from a back injury and the selectors have decided to give him some rest.
“In consultation with Hasan Ali and taking into consideration that he has been playing non-stop cricket since returning from a back injury, we have decided to give him time off from this series.”
