After pulling out of the T20I series before the start of the tour, Mushfiqur Rahim has made himself available for the three-match long series against Zimbabwe.
As per a Cricbuzz report, Mushfiqur, a former skipper and an important member of the Bangladesh squad, has decided to stay back in Zimbabwe as moving out of the biosecure bubble would have made his return for the home series against Australia impossible.
"He changed his mind and now is staying back and will be available for the T20Is against Zimbabwe. If he had decided to skip the T20Is against Zimbabwe and come out of the bio-bubble it would have been difficult for him to get back into the bubble again and make him available for the T20s," Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin confirmed the development to Cricbuzz.
The third and final T20I of the series against Zimbabwe will be played on July 27 and the Bangladesh side will return home on July 29 to host Australia for a five-match T20I series starting August 2 in Dhaka.
Mushfiqur has played 86 T20Is for Bangladesh and has amassed 1,282 runs with a strike rate of 119.93 since his debut against Zimbabwe way back in 2006.
