Mohammad Amir ready to return to international cricket, but on one condition

Pakistan pace bowler Mohammad Amir who had decided to take an indefinite break from cricket has revealed that he is thinking of making an international comeback if the current management is removed. The reports of his comeback spread like wildfire late at night in the Pakistani media and the internet was quick to catch it.

The news got momentum as Aamir had also retweeted a tweet from Sports Journalist Abdul Basit which said, “Management k jany k bad !!!” replying to a tweet in which a video was posted where Amir,28, could be seen saying that he would go to the board (PCB) and make himself available for selection.

Soon after this, tweets quoting former Pakistan coach Mickey Arthur started surfacing in which he said that Amir is still the best white-ball bowler in the world.

Amir, in a short span of 147 international matches in all formats combined picked up 259 international wickets for Pakistan. After being left out of the Pakistan squad for the New Zealand tour and playing teh Sri Lanka Premier League, Amir told a news reporter that he did not get the required support from the management and that is why he is taking an indefinite break from cricket.

SMAT 2021: Haryana’s winning juggernaut continues, after Mumbai, shocks Delhi

Haryana continued it’s winning momentum as it defeated a much-fancied Delhi in one of the Group D encounters of the 2021 edition of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. This is the second shocking result that the team has pulled off after beating Mumbai in their previous encounter. As of now, Mohit Sharma led Haryana is the only side that has remained unbeaten in the group that comprises domestic heavyweights like Mumbai and Delhi and a batting dynamite Kerala. Chasing a target of 183, Haryana rushed to it in a hurry scoring 18 in two overs. I lost two quick wickets but didn’t let the run rate slow down. But after the loss of Chaitanya Bishnoi and two other quick wickets of Yashu Sharma and Shivam Chouhan, the Haryana team was in a spot of bother just when two experienced players in Rahul Tewatia and Rohit Sharma showed their class, building an unbeaten partnership of 78 in just 33 balls. Winning the toss, Sharma invited his neighbors Delhi to bat first. The Haryana bowlers were up to the task right from the word go and dismissed the opposition skipper Shikhar who had been in scintillating form in the tournament for naught. Nitish Rana and Hiten Dalal then built the innings and added 103 for the third wicket in just 65 balls. But after thirty wickets in quick succession, the runs couldn’t come at that speed leading to Delhi making only 182 in their 20 overs. Brief Score: Vidarbha- 150-7 in 20 overs (Yash Rathod-36, Varun Choudhary- 3/31) beaten by Services - 153-2 in 17.2 overs (Lakahan Singh-66, AS Thakare- 1/32). Melbourne Derby: Stars snap comprehensive win against misfiring Renegades

Melbourne Stars continued form after beating Renegades by 6 wickets in Melbourne on Sunday. Chasing 151 in 20 overs, Stars went over the line in the 20th over. Marcus Stoinis and Nick Larkin scored 43 each while captain Glenn Maxwell was dismissed for 20. Kane Richardson picked up a couple of wickets for Renegades while Will Sutherland Peter Hatzoglou had a wicket apiece. Earlier, Renegades didn’t have a great start to the proceedings after losing Aaron Finch for a duck. But Shaun Marsh and Sam Harper steadied the ship and stitched a stand of 78 runs for second wicket before Marsh departed for 24. Harper went on to score 63. Renegades lost wickets at regular intervals but Mackenzie Harvey scored a 17-ball 29 before getting out to Liam Hatcher. They were eventually bundled out for 150. Hatcher bagged a three-for during the course. Hatcher who was also adjudged man of the match for his three-fer expressed his delight. “Very happy with that one. Got over the line. The boys played really well and the coaching staff has been brilliant. Here you can use the wicket a lot more. We have got nothing to lose. It is nice to get a few wickets. Very happy to be a part of a successful team. I love getting into a contest.” Stars are now sitting at number three in the points table with 23 points from 11 matches. Renegades on the other hand are at the bottom of the points table and have a couple of wins and 9 points in their kitty.

First ever stumping for Jos Buttler in 48 Tests and that too is a lucky escape

England wicketkeeper-batsman Jos Buttler recorded his first-ever stumping in Test cricket after stumping Dilruwan Perera, Sri Lanka’s spin bowling all-rounder in the first Test of the ongoing two-match Test series between islanders and Joe Root’s men at Galle. The stumping was off a delivery of Jake Leach which went past the bat and caused the fielding team to appeal for a ‘caught behind’. However, while appealing, Butler had a shy at the stumps and appealed for stumpings after the catch appeal was turned down. Kumar Dharmasena, the on-field umpire referred it to the third umpire Lyndon Hannibal. After a lot of look at the stumping from almost all angles and even without conclusive evidence, Hannibal was heard saying, “The boot seems to be on the line, there is nothing over it, load ‘out’ on the big screen”. The commentators then deliberated over the decision and called it unfortunate. Both Perera and Sri Lankan coach Mickey Arthur were visibly disgusted with the decision. With the dismissal, Buttler is the only wicket-keeper in the entire world who has played more than 40 Tests and has only one stumping to his name. In the context of the game, it was a very important wicket given the fact that it was the last recognized pair that could handle the bat and the Sri Lankan team has gotten a handy lead of 66 runs. With the wicket turning and spinning the way it has been and with chances of rain on the fifth day, the wicket was extremely important for the hosts. Perera, 38, scored 24 and at the time of writing this news, the Lankan team had got all out for 359 and set a fourth inning target of 74 runs for England to chase.
