Gloucestershire County Cricket Club (GCCC) and Miles Hammond have agreed on a two-year extension deal. Hammond's stay with the club was to end this season but has now been extended until 2024.

The 26-year-old is a product of the club's cricket academy and has developed into the mainstay of its middle order. Having made his debut in 2013, Hammond has played 119 matches for Gloucestershire, contributing 3,946 runs across three formats.

Hammond will feature in Gloucestershire's upcoming County Championship Division one matches against Somerset, Warwickshire, and Yorkshire. He is the club's leading run-getter this season with 739 runs.

Hammond expresses delight

"I’m really excited for the next couple of years here at Glos. It’ll be an awesome challenge and one I can't wait to get stuck into. This year has been a big learning curve and I'm looking forward to helping us come back stronger as a team next year."

Performance director, Steve Snell, too, echoed similar sentiments over Hammond's extension.

“I’m really pleased Miles has decided to extend his contract with the Club. Not only has Miles shown a huge appetite and skill level in the shorter form of the game, he has also shown that over the course of the season, he is committed and very skilled in the red-ball format as well,"
