  • Livingstones 117M Six Barely Makes It Into Top 10 Longest Sixes In Ipl History

Livingstone's 117m six barely makes it into top 10 longest sixes in IPL History

The Indian Premier League is the biggest cricketing carnival globally, and a cricketing carnival is only complete when you have players who can smash it out of the park at will. In the 15th edition of the IPL, we have already seen the ball fly into orbit, and a lot more is still to come.

Liam Livingstone, the swashbuckling English batter, is one of the deadliest strikers of the ball at this point in time, and he displayed his ability with a 117m six in the ongoing edition. But, you will be surprised to know that this humongous hit doesn’t make it into the top longest five sixes in the history of IPL.

Pretty much everyone is aware of the fact that the longest six in the history of the IPL belongs to Albie Morkel, who smoked it 125m long. The South African is built different, and his performances for CSK during his time in IPL reflected it.

But, the man who has hit the second longest six in the history of IPL is an Indian medium pacer, I know it is hard to believe, but the reality is that Praveen Kumar has a 124m long six to his name in the toughest twenty. Can you believe it? With all the power hitters that the IPL has seen over the years, Praveen is the one with a 124-meter colossal hit. I certainly did not, but here is a list of the longest sixes in the history of IPL.

IPL 2022 | Another Covid case in Delhi camp; placed in isolation

After a positive Covid case was discovered in the most recent round of testing, the Delhi Capitals (DC) were forced to remain in isolation once more. A net bowler had tested positive, according to some sources within the franchise and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The news was released just hours before the Capitals were set to face off Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the DY Patil Stadium on Sunday evening (May 8) to play their 11th game of the season. Reportedly. a new round of testing took place on Sunday morning, with all contingent members confined to their rooms. The Delhi team has been forced into isolation for the second time this season of IPL 2022. Six team members tested positive for Coronavirus earlier this season, including physio Patrick Farhart, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, keeper-batter Tim Seifert, and three other non-playing members. As a result, their games against Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Rajasthan Royals (RR), which was originally scheduled for Pune, were also moved to Mumbai. The BCCI is yet to make an announcement, but franchise sources have stated that there will not be any alterations to the match schedule is expected. "We understand that the match will take place; otherwise, we would have received notification by now," a CSK official reported. "It's just a net bowler, and everyone is in their rooms. As a result, we do not anticipate any changes." The Rishabh Pant-led team has ten points from ten games, with five wins and the same number of losses, and is still in contention for a Playoff berth. Following Sunday's match, they will play Rajasthan Royals on May 11, Punjab Kings on May 16, and Mumbai Indians on May 21.
