Katherine Brunt dreams of winning a gold medal at the CWG 2022

England seamer Katherine Brunt said she's willing to put everything on the line in pursuit of a gold medal at the upcoming Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.

Having announced her retirement from the longest version of the game ahead of last month's one-off Test against South Africa in Taunton, Brunt started the ODI series with a top-spell of 3 for 18 as England won the first ODI of the three-match series by five wickets.

However, she warmed the bench in the next two games as England wanted to test their bench strength.

Stepping up on her preparations in earnest for the Commonwealth Games, the 37-year-old speedster went out and took a career-best 4 for 15 to decimate South Africa in the first T20I on Thursday. This spell proved her readiness for the showpiece event, starting in Birmingham next week.

Brunt is willing to do anything for the Gold

Speaking about the excitement of playing in the CWG 2022, Brunt said she would do everything to ensure her participation in all the games of the global event.

"I'm willing to do whatever it takes to play all of those eight games. I will give it everything I've got in every game," Brunt said.

"I will give it everything I have got for every game, I will certainly not hold back, and I will have the gold medal in mind every single time. If it means I break at the end, I break, but I will certainly... it will take a lot for me to not be there," she concluded.
