Jos Buttler wants England to persist with aggressive approach after ODI win against South Africa

England white-ball captain Jos Buttler has urged his teammates to continue playing an aggressive brand of cricket after his team defeated South Africa in the second ODI on Friday.

England defeated South Africa in the rain-affected second ODI to level the three-match series.

After posting a modest total of 201 on the board in 28.1 overs, the hosts defended the target successfully by bowling out South Africa for a mere 83.

While speaking in the post-match presentation, Buttler was delighted with England's series-leveling victory over South Africa in the second ODI in Manchester on Friday but the English skipper feels that there is much more scope for improvement.

Buttler 'delighted' with the win

"Delighted with the win, the guys played in the fashion we want to play with as a team, can we do it better, absolutely. I tell the guys to back themselves, take the risks, impose themselves on the opposition," Jos Buttler said in the post-match presentation.

Buttler understands the potential of his batting group

Off-late England have suffered batting collapses that have hurt their chances of producing the desired results. Buttler admitted that the batting group has faltered in the last few games but he is aware of the potential of his batters in the 50-over format.

"We haven't fired with the bat in white-ball cricket but we know how dangerous we can be when we do," he added.
