Jasprit Bumrah's Assault On Broad at Edgbaston Reminds Sachin Tendulkar of Yuvraj Singh

India's stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah, on Saturday, scripted history in the ongoing fifth and final Test match against England. The star fast bowler came to bat at number 10 and went bonkers with the bat as he whacked an unbeaten 31 off just 16 balls and got the crowd on its feet.

Bumrah launched an assault against senior English pacer Stuart Broad who now holds the undesirable world record of conceding the most runs in a single over (35 runs) in the history of Test cricket. The 28-year-old surpassed West Indies legend Brian Lara's record of 28 runs to become the batter with the highest runs off a single over in Test cricket history.

Broad, who was smashed all over the park by veteran all-rounder Yuvraj Singh, 15 years back, must have experienced a 'Deja Vu' moment when he was taken to the cleaners by India pacer Jasprit Bumrah in the most brutal way possible. Now, the English pacer conceded 35 runs in an over and claimed an unwanted record of bowling the most expensive over in Test cricket history.

The Nottingham-based seamer already clenches the record for most runs conceded in an over in the shortest format when Yuvraj Singh smacked him for six sixes in the 2007 T20 World Cup. Broad holds the record, along with Sri Lanka's Akila Dananjaya, who was also bludgeoned for as many sixes in an over by Kieron Pollard last year.

Bumrah's miraculous inning was highly enjoyed and appreciated on social media. From fans to cricket pundits, all have been busy showering praises on the India bowling star. Amidst all the appreciation, the most remarkable for Bumrah would be the tweet from the 'God of Cricket', Sachin Tendulkar, who compared Bumrah's 35 runs to Yuvraj's feat in an over against the same bowler.

"Kya yeh Yuvi hai ya Bumrah!? 2007 ki yaad dilaa dii..," the legendary cricketer wrote in his tweet.

The stand-in skipper's cameo comprised two maximums and four boundaries. Bumrah's sensational knock helped India finish with a huge total of 416 on the board, with veteran England pacer James Anderson bagging a five-wicket haul.

Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant scored centuries for the visitors as they pulled India out of trouble after the hosts reduced them 98/5 on the first day. Earlier, the duo put up a record 222-run partnership for the sixth wicket to help the visitors post a mammoth total on the board.
