Jack Davies signs contract extension with Middlesex

Middlesex's Jack Davies has committed to a 12-month contract extension offered to him by the County side. Davies, who earlier had a contract till the 2022 season with Middlesex, now will remain with the club until 2023.

The wicketkeeper-batter joined the Middlesex Academy after his emergence at the Berkshire development programme. Starting at the age of 17, Davies has featured in 63 Second Eleven matches for Middlesex. The southpaw made his First-Class and T20 debuts for the club in 2020, while his first List-A game came last year.

In the ongoing Vitality T20 Blast, Davies has served as a replacement for Eoin Morgan, playing 8 of the 11 matches.

Head of Men's Performance Cricket, Alan Coleman, opened up on Davies' latest deal with Middlesex.

"We are thrilled that Jack has put pen to paper on a contract extension with the Club and are really looking forward to him playing an important role in the side we are developing here at Middlesex."

"He is an outstanding talent, a very popular lad within the dressing room, and has all the credentials he needs to become a fine professional cricketer. Jack is still only 22 and is learning his trade, but with exposure to game-time he will build his experience and we are excited to watch how his game develops over the next couple of years," Coleman added.

Davies has shared his delight at the contract extension as well. The 22-year-old hopes to repay the club and its fans' faith in him.

"I am really excited to have signed a new deal with Middlesex and am loving being at the club. We've got a great group of players in the dressing room, with a great mix of experience and youth, and I'm really enjoying playing with this current group of lads and playing in an environment that we are all thriving in," Davies said.

"We're united as a dressing room and are all committed to bringing the success back to Middlesex that the club's members and supporters deserve. My thanks go to everyone at the club for the support they've given me, and I am really excited about where my cricket is heading," he asserted.
