Ireland Inter-Provincial Cup 2022 | Andy McBrine's ton sparkles Warriors' win

This Thursday, Ireland's Inter-Provincial Limited Overs Cup 2022 returned amidst a break from its T20 tournament. Match number 9 of the celebrated 50-overs Irish season saw the North West Warriors taking on the Northern Knights at Stormont in Belfast.

Andy McBrine, Conor Olphert headline Warrior's win

The Northern Knights won the toss before the match and opted to field first. Warriors' opener Stephen Doheny delightedly accepted the invitation to bat by whacking a well-crafted 97. Meanwhile, captain Andy McBrine went a step further and reached the three-figure mark before falling short of his crease at 117.

Graham Hume's entertaining 15-ball 27* lifted the Warriors to 304-4 from their 50 overs. Mark Adair, Josh Manley, and Thomas Mayes picked up a wicket each among the Knights' bowlers, while others remained wicketless in their expensive spells.

The Northern Knights never found themselves in the game by losing wickets in quick successions. Apart from Aniruddha Chore's 65, Neil Rock's 62 and Ross Adair's 45, they found no real contributors to overcome their hefty target. The Knights eventually folded out for 241, falling 63 runs short of the Warriors' total.

Winning captain and Irish veteran McBrine won the 'Player of the Match' for his second List A ton.
