IPL 2022 | RCB vs GT | Fantasy Tips

The stage is set for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) as they clash against the table toppers Gujarat Titans (GT) in the 'Match 67' of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

RCB are just one stage away from the race to playoffs, and the franchise are in desperate need of a big win if they wish to make it into the knockout stage. The Bold Army are currently at the fifth spot on the points table behind the Delhi Capitals (DC) and are far behind when it comes to the net run rate.

While RCB will be desperately looking for a win and hope that DC lose their game against Mumbai Indians (MI), Gujarat, on the other hand, have already consolidated their spot in the playoffs and will face no consequences from the results tonight.

After thoughtful consideration, we have prepared a list of names that could provide you with considerable benefits in the fantasy contests tonight.

Superstars of the game

Dinesh Karthik: Karthik has breathed a new life into his career with a string of breathtaking performances for the Royal Challengers this season. The batter has the best strike rate this season and has perfected the finisher's role to polish.

Wanindu Hasaranga: This could be Hasaranga's opportunity to get hold of a wider margin against the current Purple Cap holder, Yuzvendra Chahal. Hasaranga currently has 23 wickets to his name and is just a wicket short of Chahal in the race for the coveted cap.

Wriddhiman Saha: This has been a surprising season for Wriddhiman Saha after being roped in for the playing eleven at Gujarat Titans. The player has scored 281 runs in eight innings, and he could be eying the 400 mark this season.

Experts of the game

Experts' Take:

Virat Kohli: "This is high time for the King to perform, and there is no bigger time for the maestro to get the runs going from his bat. Kohli looked in good touch with the bat against Punjab Kings, but his stay was cut short as the batter was unlucky in his dismissal. We could see a big inning from King Kohli tonight!"

Mohammed Shami: "Mohammed Shami has been on fire for the Gujarat Titans. The experienced bowler has sparked a new fire in his t20 career and will look to continue with his red hot form."

Harshal Patel: "Harshal has looked good with the ball in the second half of the tournament. The bowler has been crucial in the death overs. The team will bank a lot on him to get him through the knockouts."

IPL 2022 | Indian Premier League Final rescheduled for 8 PM start

The completion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is around the corner, with the final few matches of the league stages remaining ahead of the playoffs. The final of the IPL will be staged at the Narendra Modi Stadium at Motera in Ahmedabad on May 29. A report in Cricbuzz stated that the start of play has been pushed to 8 PM due to different cultural performances being arranged. The closing ceremony of sorts will see renowned Bollywood personalities perform on stage. The event will start at 6.30 PM and go till 7.20 PM. The toss will be held at 7.30 PM, with the first ball to be delivered at 8 PM. The IPL discontinued the trend for such ceremonies under the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) for a period of three years. The current administration under Sourav Ganguly and Jay Shah, due to Covid-19 limitations, followed the same pattern in the two editions, but now, with conditions easing up, has decided to start this trend again after an apex council gathering. The playoffs will take place across two cities - Kolkata and Ahmedabad. Eden Gardens will play host to Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator, while the newly reconstructed stadium in Ahmedabad will organize Qualifier 2 and the Final. So far, only Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have qualified for the playoffs, scoring 20 and 18 points, respectively. Gujarat still has one match remaining, while Lucknow has played all their games. Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) occupy the third and fourth positions in the table, with their two spots still up for grabs in the next stage. Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have an outside chance but will need to win their final match against table-toppers Gujarat. Interestingly, all multiple IPL-winning franchises have been eliminated from the league stage.

IPL 2022 | LSG vs KKR featured record 200+ total amidst run-fest season

The 66th game of IPL 2022 witnessed KL Rahul’s high-flying Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) taking on the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a high-scoring thriller. In a must-win game for the KKR, Shreyas Iyer’s bowlers failed to take a single wicket as LSG openers celebrated Dr DY Patil Stadium’s pristine batting surface with full authority. While LSG hammered 210-0 courtesy of Quinton de Kock’s punishing 140* and Rahul’s elegant 68*, Shreyas and Co. fell short of their target by just two runs despite some courageous rearguard fightbacks from Rinku Singh and Sunil Narine. To sum up, the match featured twin 200+ totals, 418 runs and provided entertainment for the fans. IPL 2022: LSG vs KKR high-scoring affair creates all-time IPL record When LSG scored 210-0 in their innings, they slammed their second 200+ total of the season. It also marked the 16th occasion this year where a team crossed 200 runs or more in an innings. Also, it took another couple of hours to witness a team breaching the landmark for the 17th time as KKR finished on 208-8 to end their 2022 campaign. Remarkably, this year now marks the most number of 200+ totals by teams in any single IPL edition. The previous best was 15, as seen in the 2018 season of the tournament. The only teams without any 200+ total so far this year have been the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Mumbai Indians, and surprisingly, table-toppers Gujarat Titans. However, the Titans did manage a 199-run score during their enthralling run chase against the SRH last month. On the other hand, defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) slammed four such totals, and they still have a game to go. Teams like Delhi Capitals and Rajasthan Royals reached the mark thrice each. Moreover, KKR, LSG and Punjab Kings registered the number twice apiece. Batting-heavy Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) unit also slammed a 200, albeit in a losing cause to Punjab Kings. IPL 2022: Teams create six-hitting record, bettering 2018 Apparently, the IPL 2022 bettered the 2018 edition in terms of 200+ totals, but it also overhauled 2018’s tally of most IPL sixes in a single year. The landmark six arrived off the blade of CSK’s Moeen Ali against Gujarat Titans’ enigma machine Rashid Khan during Match 62 on May 15 at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. Moeen’s six was the 873rd maximum of the season, eclipsing 2018’s haul of 872 sixes. As of now, the overall IPL 2022 tally stands at 942 sixes following the conclusion of LSG’s narrow win over the KKR. The ongoing season still has eight more games left, with four of them being the playoffs and the final. However, the rate of sixes and the number of remaining matches put IPL 2022 edition well on course to cross 1,000 sixes. Moreover, the season is also on track to feature a few more 200+ totals if the latest game suggests what to expect in the next ten days.
