IPL 2022 | LSG vs MI | Million-dollar boy finds strange way to go packing, yet again

Mumbai Indians (MI) wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan encountered an unfortunate dismissal in tonight’s Indian Premier League (IPL) clash against the Lucknow Super Giants.

Kishan, who is already having a horrid season, met with the strangest of the dismissals, getting caught at the first slip off Ravi Bishnoi’s bowling.

The incident transpired in the eighth over of the Mumbai Indians’ innings. The first delivery of the over saw the leg-spinner, bowling a short-pitch delivery wide from the off-stump.

Instead of letting it pass, Kishan threw the kitchen sink at the cherry. The ball took an under-edge of the southpaw’s bat and ricocheted off the gloveman's (Quinton de Kock) foot before landing straight into the sizeable palms of Jason Holder, who was stationed at the first slip.

Although Kishan decided to walk off, the on-field umpires went upstairs. Finally, however, enough conclusive evidence was found as the 23-year-old’s evening with the bat ended after scoring a sluggish 20-ball 8.

Kishan was the highest-paid player in the IPL 2022 auction, bought by MI for Rs. 15.25 crore. However, he is having a tough time with just 199 runs to his name so far in the season.
