IPL 2022 | KKR vs SRH | When Russell fires, KKR Win

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the 61st match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by a convincing margin of 54 runs. With the win, KKR kept their hopes of making it to the playoffs alive. 


The match saw an extraordinary performance by Andre Russell to take them over the line. He was brilliant with both the bat and the ball.

Vs RR (Match 30): In a match where Jos Buttler murdered all the KKR bowlers, Russell bowled two overs, conceded 29 runs, and picked up one wicket. While chasing a mammoth total, Russell got out for a golden duck.

As we see in 50% of the matches KKR has won this season, Andre Russell has had an impactful performance. In the overall season also, he has 46.15 % in the green zone and only 23.07% in the red zone. This shows how dependent KKR has been on Andre Russell. With KKR still in contention for the playoffs, it is a positive for them that Russell is in good form. But the fact they are over-dependent on the man can prove costly if the others don't step up at the right time.
