IPL 2022 | Jasprit Bumrah ends the season with a scattered record

Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer Jasprit Bumrah became the first Indian to take 15 wickets or more for seven successive seasons in the history of the Indian Premier League.

Since 2016, Jasprit Bumrah has taken 15 or more wickets every season. The right-arm quick achieved this remarkable feat during the match against Delhi Capitals at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Bumrah was at his fiery best as he finished his spell against Delhi Capitals with three big wickets against his name, later winning the Player of the Match for his efforts.

He's just the second bowler in the history of the Indian Premier League to take 15 plus wickets in seven consecutive seasons. The other name on the list is the former MI bowler and Bumrah's mentor Lasith Malinga. 

The 28-year-old seamer first dismissed the inform Mitchell Marsh. Then he bowled a scary short ball to Prithvi Shaw, who in a bid to get out of the way, ended up gloving it to the keeper Ishan Kishan.

Earlier in the season, he also surpassed legendary off-spinner Harbhajan Singh to become the second-highest wicket for Mumbai Indians by displacing him as the second-best with 148 wickets. Malinga again tops the list with 170 scalps for the five-time champions.

Although Mumbai Indians failed to make it into the playoffs for a second successive edition, they registered their fourth victory of the season.
