Delhi Capitals have roped in Biju George as fielding coach for the IPL 2022 season. He will replace former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif who was with the franchise till the last edition.
"We have taken him for the season and he comes with good years of experience - both in IPL and international cricket," a promoter of the franchise told Cricbuzz.
He will be joining the coaching staff comprising head coach Ricky Ponting, Shane Watson, James Hopes, Ajit Agarkar and Pravin Amre. Delhi Capitals will begin the campaign on March 27, 2022 against Mumbai Indians at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.
The Capitals team which will be led by Rishabh Pant will reach Mumbai on March 10, 2022 while the skipper will join the camp later as he is on national duty.
Biju was associated with India women's team as the fielding coach and has worked with Tushar Arothe, WV Raman and Ramesh Powar. He has also been with Kolkata Knight Riders for two years (2015 and 2016) and the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise for one year (2020). Apart from this, he has coached the Kuwait national team.
