The El Clásico of IPL is finally here with five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) taking on the arch-rivals Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 33rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Thursday at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai. 


The Rohit Sharma-led side and Chennai Super Kings have been the most successful teams in the history of the IPL, however, this season tells you a contrasting story. 


Mumbai Indians have looked nothing but clueless in IPL 2022 so far with no wins in six matches and reeling at the bottom of the points table. They are still searching for their perfect combination with the likes of Riley Meredith and Tim David warming the bench. 


Skipper Rohit Sharma has looked completely out of form along with his opening partner Ishan Kishan, who was also the most expensive retention of MI. The big names, Kieron Pollard and Jasprit Bumrah are yet to find the rhythm. 


Dewald Brevis, Tilak Varma, and Suryakumar Yadav have been the only positives for the struggling Mumbai Indians. From here on, they need to win almost all matches to keep their playoffs hopes alive. One more loss might see them facing early elimination from the competition. 


Chennai Super Kings, on the other hand, are in no better situation, losing five of their six games and placed at a spot ahead of Mumbai Indians in the points table. While their batting has clicked in the last couple of games, it has been their bowling that has been a massive letdown for them. 


They are coming off a three-wicket defeat at the hands of Gujarat Titans in a nail-biting encounter, where GT stand-in captain Rashid Khan (40 off 21) and David Miller (94* off 51) took the CSK bowlers to the cleaners. The defending champions desperately need a perfect bowling combination if they want to go deep in the race.  


With too much at stake, both sides will be keen on recording a victory in this match to remain alive in the competition, making it another entertaining game at Dr. DY Patil Stadium.

IPL 2022 | DC vs PBKS | Delhi Capitulates Punjab Kings

After a series of exciting affairs, the 32nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 produced a one-sided contest as Punjab Kings (PBKS) suffered decimation at the hands of Delhi Capitals (DC), where the latter earned an easy nine-wicket win at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai, on Wednesday. While there was not much left to do, Warner was in a hurry and ended the match in partnership with Sarfaraz Khan. The Aussie brought up his third consecutive half-century and finished unbeaten at the score of 60 as DC chased the target in 10.3 overs. Earlier, after being sent to bat, the Kings had no answers to tough questions raised by Delhi's pacers. Skipper Mayank Agarwal returned after a one-game break; he could not add much to the stuttering batting lineup as an inside-edge on Mustafizur Rahman's delivery rattled the stumps and ended his evening. Shikhar Dhawan had an unfortunate dismissal, playing down the leg-side for a boundary but was caught by Rishabh Pant. Rotterdam to host bilateral series between Pakistan and Netherlands

The VOC Cricket Ground at Rotterdam will host the bilateral ODI series between Pakistan and Netherlands, the PCB Director confirmed on Wednesday. The series will start on 16th August and will culminate on 21st August. Zakir Khan, the PCB Director – International, announced the tour and mentioned the importance of the bilateral series between the two nations. “We are pleased that with the support of the Koninklijke Nederlandse Cricket Bond (KNCB), we have been able to reschedule the series, which is important to the growth and development of cricket in the Netherlands as well as to the two teams’ chances of progressing directly to the 2023 World Cup,” said Zakir. “Our men’s national cricket team had an excellent 2021-22 season, and I am confident they will build on the momentum to entertain ex-pat Pakistanis and the Dutch spectators with good cricket. This series will also help KNCB attract new and young audiences towards the game,” Zakir added. Both sides were up against each other in the 1996 and 2003 World Cup and the Champions Trophy 2002. In all these encounters, Pakistan secured victory. This series was scheduled to be played in July 2020, but the COVID outbreak in the entire world caused it to be postponed. Currently, the Netherlands have secured two wins out of ten appearances and are positioned 13th in the ODI World Cup Super League points table.
