Head coach of the Royal Challengers Bangalore Simon Katich lavished praises on former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and said that he and his side have a huge amount of respect for the charismatic skipper. Dhoni hasn’t been in the best of form with the bat but his captaincy skills have been phenomenal in this season so far and have led CSK to three victories out of the four matches.
Kohli led RCB will lock horns against the Dhoni-led CSK in a few moments at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. While RCB is currently occupying the top spot in the points table, CSK is currently in the second position having won 3 out of their 4 matches so far.
"Dhoni is a master, isn't he? They are sitting at the top with three wins, they have had a fantastic start, they have fantastic players, we have a huge amount of respect for CSK, it is going to be a great game, we have seen some great games in Mumbai already. CSK has a very damaging batting lineup but we know our bowling lineup has performed well this season," stated Katich in a video that was posted by the official Twitter handle of RCB
Meanwhile Australian medium-pacer Kane Richardson who played his first match for the RCB this season accepted the fact that the yellow brigade have a sensational batting line-up and RCB need to play out of their skin to return triumphant against the three-time champions.
"It was enjoyable to finally play. It has been good watching the boys play in the first three games but it was good to finally get out there and play and be a part of the winning team. I have been rusty myself, it was great," said Richardson.
"It all depends on the conditions at the Wankhede. Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad, are in form and they are batting well, so we will come up with some plans to stop them. They have experience throughout their team, they have won a lot of IPLs so it is going to be a really good game," he added.
It has been a sensational start for the Bangalore based team who are hoping to win their first IPL. Their start has been phenomenal having won 4 matches out of 4. Captain Virat Kohli after the win against the Royals asked their fans to not get over-excited as this is still early days into the tournament. Coming back to CSK, after losing the opening game against the Capitals, they bounced back strongly with three back to back victories.
