Jos Buttler brought up his maiden hundred in his IPL career and broke the chain of low scores in the ongoing edition of the tournament. He brought up his hundred in 56 balls with 10 fours and five sixes.
He was not in a great vein of form coming into the contest against the Surisers Hyderabad and struggled to get going at the start. He was unable to find the gaps and also lacked fluency till the halfway stage of his innings.
At the end of the 11th over, he was batting on a 33-ball 35 and it appeared that the Royals will struggle once again in absence of a big score from Buttler but the right-hander turned things around quickly. He smashed Sandeep Sharma for 17 runs in the 13th over and never looked back since that stage.
He was extremely severe against the off-spinner Mohammad Nabi and put him over the fence for two fours and two sixes in the 15th over to approach his first hundred.
His heroics with the bat after the first 30 balls ensured the Royals are in with the chance of posting a big score on the board against the Sunrisers in Delhi. The Royals need to win this contest to resurrect their journey in the 14th edition of the IPL.
Buttler got out on the last ball of the 19th over after 129 runs off just 64 balls, an innings that included 11 fours and 8 sixes.
