After completing a whitewash 3-0 win in the ODI series against West Indies, India now shift focus on the T20Is scheduled to begin on Wednesday (February 16, 2022) in Kolkata.
The side looks pretty steady despite facing some injury issues before the start of the T20Is. All-rounders Washington Sundar and Axar Patel and newly-appointed limited-overs vice-captain KL Rahul were ruled out of the fixtures.
"Washington Sundar suffered a left hamstring muscle strain during fielding in the third ODI," said a statement from BCCI.
Sundar was replaced by Kuldeep Yadav in the team.
Patel on the other side is resuming the final stage of his rehabilitation after recently recovering from Covid-19 while Rahul had sustained an upper left hamstring strain during the ODI series against West Indies.
The visitors, on the other hand, would look to turn fortunes for themselves in the T20Is.
