ICC Women’s CWC 2022 | NZ-W vs PAK-W | Match 26, Preview, Predictions, Fantasy XI

The hosts, New Zealand Women, will be locking horns against Pakistan Women at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on March 26, 2022. Both teams are practically in the same boat, but a win for New Zealand maintains them ahead of their opponents.

New Zealand Women are positioned in sixth place with two victories and four losses, while Pakistan Women are languishing at the bottom of the table with just two points.

The White Ferns have had a disappointing tournament. But it doesn't mean they were below par in terms of performance. Three of the four matches that they lost were nail-biters, and the home side turned out to be on the receiving end of a loss. The scenario would have been very different if they had won at least two nail-biters. However, the past is behind them, and they will want to finish the tournament positively.

The sad news for the Kiwi's is that Lea Tahuhu has been ruled out of the tournament due to a hamstring injury. Sophie Devine and her teammates will undoubtedly miss her, as she is their most successful ODI bowler. Hayley Jensen is likely to substitute her. Sophie Devine has been spotted in practice despite a back issue, and the Kiwis medical team is hopeful that she will be able to play tomorrow.

Before flying out of New Zealand, the Bismah Maroof-led side will be aiming for another upset. They have already beaten a robust West Indies Women side by a comfortable margin and will be looking to replicate the performances.

Pakistan Women finished bottom in the last World Cup and will be hoping to avoid that fate this time. For this, they have a simple equation to win the upcoming contest against the Kiwi Women’s.

Overall, this is a game that can be considered a dead rubber but still a match of two teams fighting hard for their respective nation’s pride.
