ICC Women's CWC 2022 | ENG-W vs BAN-W | Match 27 Preview, Predictions, Fantasy XI

Only two matches are left in the league stages of the ICC Women's World Cup 2022. We have a doubleheader day coming up. In the 27th match, England Women will cross paths with Bangladesh Women in a must-win game. This match will be played at Basin Reserve in Wellington on March 27, 2022.

The English Women are in fourth place with 6-points from six matches, while the Bangla Tigresses are in seventh place with a single win from six games played.

The team led by Heather Knight has shown great characters, both on and off-field. After getting the worst possible starts, they have made a strong comeback and shown why they are the defending champions. They have shown immense character to come back after three losses to win three in a row. A win in the last league match against Bangladesh Women will seal their spot in the semi-finals, which will begin on Wednesday (March 30, 2022).

They are coming off from a comprehensive victory against Pakistan Women. The England team management would have been happy to see their senior pro, Katherine Brunt, coming back into her groove with a 3-wicket haul. Out-of-form Danielle Wyatt returned favours to the skipper and coach with a gritty fifty. So with all the bases covered, it should be a cakewalk for them.

The Nigar Sultana-led side has nothing to lose. But they can carry England Women with them on the way back home. Bangladesh Women have already been involved in an upset as they created history against a formidable Pakistan Women side.

They have shown to the world that they belong to this level. The Tigresses were able to give a tough fight to a team that has been unbeatable in the tournament so far. In a rain-curtailed game, Bangladesh were able to reduce the Australia Women to 70-5 at one stage. But their opponents had enough bench strength to overcome this small collapse.

A mouth-watering contest is on the cards as one side is looking to book their seats in the semis while the other is searching for an upset. Who's going to come on top? Only time will tell.

Date and Time- March 27, 2022, 3:30 AM IST

Venue- Basin Reserve, Wellington

Broadcast- Star Sports Network and Disney+Hotstar

Pitch Report

The Basin Reserve pitch is getting used for the sixth time in this World Cup. Despite the usage, it will help the seamers a bit more than the spinners. With the wind being a factor for most of the teams, especially from the sub-continent struggle here. But at the higher level, one should be up for it. The average first innings score is 240. Win the toss and bowl first should be the mantra.

Weather Conditions

The weather doesn't look too pleasing for the cricket players and their followers. There will be rain and some breaks here and there during match time. They are predicted to be passing showers. So hope for a result-oriented cricket.
