How Can India Win T20 World Cup in 2024? Ex-KKR Player Reveals the Trick

The recent T20 series defeat for India under Hardik Pandya in the West Indies was more than just disappointing for their ardent fans. Given that the T20 World Cup will also be held in the same nation next year, tensions are growing over whether the Men In Blue could have arrived with all guns blazing.

What must be done to dramatically change the tide? Aakash Chopra, former India and Kolkata Knight Riders player, offered his opinions on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Chopra highlighted India’s concerns about having a long tail in T20s. The 45-year-old also noted that India no longer have players in their batting unit who can also make useful contributions with the ball. In order to solve the issue, Chopra opined India need to start including Washington Sundar everywhere and give people like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Tilak Varma plenty of chances to succeed.

Here's what Aakash Chopra mentioned on Wednesday:

"Considering that most of the current Indian batters don’t bowl even a couple of overs, Indian team must start pushing for batters who do. Yashasvi-Tilak should be given a longer rope…and encouraged to bowl as often as possible. Washington has to be in India’s T20 scheme of things too."

The upcoming T20I series between Jasprit Bumrah's India and Ireland, which starts on Friday (August 18) in Dublin, will feature Sundar back in the Men in Blue colors. All three games will be played at the same venue, and the series will last until August 23.
