Hasan Ali presented with Lancashire County Cap by James Anderson

One of the finest pace bowlers of the Pakistan national team, Hasan Ali, had signed a contract with the Lancashire team for the first six matches of the 2022 edition of the County Championship.

So far, Ali has scalped 24 wickets at an average of 17.5 in four appearances and is the team's leading wicket-taker. Ahead of the team's Round 6 match against Essex at Old Trafford, the legendary Lancashire pacer James Anderson presented Ali with the Lancashire County cap.

Anderson hailed the 27-year pacer for his efforts and performance for the club this year. He further hoped that Ali will be back for Lancashire next season.

"On behalf of the players, Hassan, I want to say thank you for your efforts during your time with the Club," said Anderson.

"You haven't been here very long, but you've had a huge impact and played some match-winning performances. I know this is your last week, so let's go out on a high and send you off with a win and some more wickets. I hope this isn't the last we see of you, we'd love to have you back in the future."

Ali will be returning home after the ongoing fixture against Essex and will be part of the Pakistan team in the bilateral 3-match ODI series next month against the West Indies team.

So far, Lancashire have 2 wins in 5 league matches and are at third position in the County Championship Division One 2022 points table.
