Go and ask PCB why my services are not taken: Wasim Akram

Former Pakistan skipper Wasim Akram has said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) never approached him for his services to the board or the national team.

The former Pakistani left-arm pacer was asked why he isn't involved with the PCB.  Akram said that he has no answer as to why his services haven't been taken by the board to date.

"You should go and ask PCB why my services are not taken. Anyways, I help them whenever needed," Wasim Akram said while talking to the media.

Despite being the most successful left-arm pacer in the history of the game, the Pakistan Cricket Board is yet to finalise terms with the Pakistan legend but Akram asserted that he's ready to serve his country whenever he'll be needed.

"Having played cricket for a long time and being a Pakistani, I am ready to serve my country anytime," he added.

Pakistan had made a winning start to their three-match ODI series against West Indies, beating the tourists by five wickets in the first ODI in Multan. Skipper Babar Azam led from the front and scored a terrific century (103) as Pakistan chased down a 306-run target with four balls to spare. Imam-ul-Haq (65), Mohammad Rizwan (59), and Khushdil Shah (41*) also made important contributions in the run-chase, taking Pakistan to a 1-0 lead in the series.

After the game was finished, Akram was asked about Pakistan cricket's downfall but the question did not go well with him and he cheekily responded to the question by saying that the national team is doing well and according to him there's no downfall of Pakistan Cricket.

"Are you living on the moon? The Pakistan team is doing good, which downfall you are talking about? They have just chased 300+ against the West Indies, won their last series against Australia," Akram said.
