Ganguly cryptic tweet goes viral, sparks rumours of his resignation as President

Sourav Ganguly’s tweet sent fans into a frenzy this evening as the current BCCI president posted a cryptic tweet on his handle about starting a new chapter in his life, which made people assume as the ex-player was resigning from his post.

Ganguly, alongside BCCI secretary Jay Shah, was part of a successful completion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. A resignation in such conditions did not make any sense, and it was quickly clarified by the BCCI secretary and who mentioned that Ganguly is going nowhere.

"2022 marks the 30th year since the start of my journey with cricket in 1992. Since then, cricket has given me a lot. Most importantly, it has given me the support of all of you. I want to thank every single person who has been a part of the journey, supported me, and helped me reach where I am today," Ganguly wrote in his tweet.

"Today, I am planning to start something that I feel will probably help a lot of people. I hope you continue your support as I enter this chapter of my life," he added.

While the sweet sparked some controversy, Jay Shah quickly clarified on the tweet, saying Ganguly is not going anywhere and is just starting a new chapter in his life.
