Karun Nair with KL Rahul (Source: @englandcricket/X.com)
After being left out of the 4th Test in Manchester, Indian batter Karun Nair was seen crying in the dressing room. However, the reality is far different from the now-viral image being depicted on social media.
Viral Picture Of Karun Nair Crying In The Dressing Room Is Fake
In what turned out to be a massive redemption for Sai Sudharsan in the Test side after being left out of the last two games, his opposite number, Karun Nair, who also made his long-awaited comeback in the series, failed to impress everyone with poor returns in the six innings he batted.
After failures in all three Tests, Nair was replaced by Sudharsan in the ongoing fourth Test at Manchester between England and India. However, the image going viral on social media shows Karun Nair sitting in the dugout crying while Indian opening batter KL Rahul is seen consoling him.
Interestingly, the key point to note in the image is that Nair was nowhere to be seen crying. The fact is that this picture is from the third Test at Lord's, which can clearly be seen by the location where both of them are sitting, namely the iconic Lord's balcony.
Therefore, we can clearly understand that the claim about Nair crying is absolutely fake and has nothing to do with him being dropped.
Karun Nair's Horrible Return To Test Cricket
After missing 8 years of international cricket, Karun Nair made his long-awaited return to the Test side, only to be dropped again. This time, after getting six consecutive chances, meaning after featuring in three Test matches, Nair failed to impress, as he had a poor series, scoring only 131 runs at an average of 21.83, with his highest score being just 40.
Meanwhile, on the other hand, KL Rahul had a dream series with 421 runs so far in seven innings at an average of 60.14, while scoring his best of 137.
