ENG v IND | [Watch]: Jasprit Bumrah removes Zak Crawley, Ollie Pope with jaffas

Indian skipper Jasprit Bumrah once again came to his sides' rescue as he produced a Jaffa to remove a well-set Zak Crawley on the cusp of the Tea break of the ongoing Edgbaston Test.

India finally managed to get the ball changed as it failed the ring test on the 5th instance during the 21st over of England's 2nd innings.

And the game changed immediately. Bumrah brought himself back into the attack, and it took him just 4 deliveries to remove Crawley.

It was a peach from Jasprit, one that pitched on a good length and then jagged back wickedly into the right-handed Crawley.

Crawley shouldered arms, thinking it would go gun-barrel straight as it had done right through his 76-ball stay at the crease, but the death rattle of his stumps gave him a rude reminder.

Watch the dismissal here:

The change in ball changed the dynamics of the game completely as Bumrah, and then Shami started making it talk, which led to an otherwise peerless Alex Lees surviving a few nervy moments before the break.

That said, the second session belonged completely to the hosts as their openers made perfect use of ideal batting conditions and poor bowling from the Indians to launch a stunning counterattack in their pursuit of 378.

Lees led the way with a brilliant counter-punch, where he cut, drove, flicked and even charged the Indian bowlers besides rotating the strike brilliantly.

The southpaw smashed his way to a 44-ball half-century and, in the process, he and Crawley went on to notch up the record of stitching the fastest hundred-run partnership by an England opening pair.

Bumrah picked off from where he had left prior to the Tea break as he knocked over Ollie Pope with another Jaffa immediately after play resumed.

It was a back-of-a-length delivery from Jasprit which kicked into Pope, who could only feather it to Pant, who took a fine low catch.

India got another breakthrough in the form of Lees, who was run out in the very next over thanks to a horrible mix-up with Joe Root.

At the time of writing, England were 3-128 with Root and Bairstow leading the charge.
