ECB unveil ODI kits of men's, women's & specially-abled teams

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) on Friday (May 13) unveiled the new ODI kit for the men's, women's and specially-abled teams.

The custom blue kit has been released as part of ECB's long-standing relationship with Castore.

'Three Lions' feature prominently on the custom blue jersey. The makers of the jersey have worked closely with senior England players from all three teams in order to develop a kit that caters to the demands of elite cricketers.

This includes the use of specially selected materials and the company's unique fabrication process, which will enable the ease of movement for players.

Earlier, the ECB had also launched the T20I and Test kits.

The Men's team will first don this jersey when they take on the Netherlands in an ODI series next month.

Three 50-over games will follow this series against the visiting Indian team, which will also play one Test and three T20Is during their three-week trip in June-July.

The last home ODI series that England's men's team will play this summer will be against South Africa in July.

As far as the Women's team is concerned, the former world champions will make their debut in the new ODI kit when they host the Proteas for a three-match series.

The Heather Knight-led unit will also host 2017 runners-up Team India for three 50-over games (and three T20Is) later in the summer.

English cricket has witnessed a sea of changes in the last few months. From managing director to coach, Test captain to jerseys, everything has witnessed a complete overhaul.

Recently, the ECB named superstar all-rounder Ben Stokes as Joe Root's successor after the latter relinquished the red-ball leadership duties following a disastrous last 15 months for the team.

Stokes has now been joined by former New Zealand cricketer Brendon McCullum as head coach of the Test team.

Their reign will start when Kane Williamson's men come knocking for a three-match series, starting at Lord's next month.
