There were several candidates, but the Western Australian pacer, Lance Morris has pipped everyone to clinch the award. He had a terrific domestic season, and was even rewarded with a call-up in the national squad, however, he is yet to make his Australia debut.

Having made his first-class debut in October 2020, Morris has never looked back since then and the tearaway pacer is touted as the next big thing in Australian cricket. So far, Morris has bagged 59 wickets, in 18 FC matches, at an average of 25.08.

The 24-year-old, has captured 12 wickets in 18 T2O matches, and currently plays for Western Australia in the domestic competition, and for Perth Scorchers in the Big Bash League.

Men's Domestic Player of the Year

Another pacer who has consistently performed in the domestic circuit has been rewarded by Cricket Australia. Michael Nesser wins Men's Domestic Player of the Year Award.

Known for his accurate lines and lengths, Nesser is the first pacer since Jason Behrendorff to win the coveted prize. He had yet another stellar domestic season for Queensland Bulls, picking up 24 wickets in the Sheffield Shield, at an average of 14.50.

Women's Domestic Player of the Year

Annabel Sutherland has been rewarded for her consistency for both Melbourne stars and Victoria, as she becomes the Women's Domestic Player of the Year. The 21-year-old recently scored her maiden WNCL century and has continued to perform in the absence of key players.

She had a terrific WBBL campaign, wherein Sutherland scored 304 runs, and picked up 21 wickets.
