Cricket Australia announce an action packed schedule for 2022-23

In the latest developments, Cricket Australia has announced the busy schedule of the Australian team for the next 18 months. Next month, Australia will embark on a tour to Sri Lanka to play 3 T20Is, 3 ODIs and 2 Tests.

After that, they will feature in a 3-match ODI series against Zimbabwe and New Zealand at home. After this series gets concluded, the defending champions will look to prepare for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

They are slated to visit India for a 3-match T20I series in September and will host England and West Indies for 6 T20I matches at home in the subsequent month. This will be the first occasion of Australia acting as a host to West Indies after the 2015/16 series.

After the culmination of the T20 World Cup on home soil, England will be playing a 3-match ODI series in Australia. Then, the Caribbean team and Proteas will be playing an away series in December-January.

The most arduous assignment for the Andrew Mcdonald-coached team awaits, as they will be on a 4-Test match tour of India in February. In the last series played between both teams, India won by 2-1 in 2021.

In June-July, an all-important Ashes 2023 will take place, with Australia on the lookout to retain the prestigious urn after thrashing England 4-0 in the last edition.

In August 2023, the Australia team will be on tour to South Africa to play five white-ball games, which will serve as a precursor to the ODI World Cup. This series was due to be played in 2021 but was postponed due to health concerns amidst the covid pandemic.
