Table-toppers Barbados Royals will go up against the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the first qualifier of the ongoing CPL 2022 season. The winner of the match will directly punch their tickets for the final of the tournament, scheduled to be played on September 30.
The Barbados Royals finished the league stage at the top of the points table. They secured eight wins from their 10 fixtures and have maintained a dominant net run-rate throughout the season.
However, the Kyle Mayers-led side lost their most recent encounter to the Amazon Warriors by five wickets. The match finished off their league stage commitments, which featured eight wins from their first nine games of the season.
The Amazon Warriors, on the other hand, finished the league stage at second position. Shimron Hetmyer and co. registered five wins from their 10 fixtures to get to the playoffs. They are currently on a four-match winning streak, one which started with their win over the Tallawahs last week.
