County Championship 2022 | Brydon Carse set to make a comeback for Durham against Glamorgan

Durham pacer Brydon Carse may well make his comeback from a prolonged injury layoff for Durham when they face Glamorgan in their next county fixture.

Carse is on a comeback trail as he sustained an injury during a practice session in England's tour of Australia last year as part of the tourists' quarantine period. He reportedly tore the cartilage in his right knee during a practice match.

But now he's fit to play for his club in the next game against Glamorgan on May 12.  

Carse signed a development contract with Durham in 2016, and he made his first-class debut for Durham in the same year in the County Championship. He picked up 17 wickets on his debut season for Durham, and he was rewarded with a two-year deal by the club. 

After making his debut for England in July 2021, Carse has taken six wickets so far in his international career, five of which came in England's three-wicket win over Pakistan at Edgbaston, when he got the big scalps of Pakistan's stalwarts- Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan.

The right-arm seamer was also selected in a 14-strong Lions squad in camp alongside England's Ashes squad in Australia last year.

Durham are in search of their first victory of the ongoing season, and Carse's return may well boost their chances in the upcoming fixture.
