Cameron Green returns to Perth Scorchers for BBL 12

Perth Scorchers have secured the services of all-rounder Cameron Green for this year's Big Bash League.

After making his Twenty20 debut for the Scorchers in the 2018–19 Big Bash League season, Green represented them on 13 occasions. However, his last appearance in Australia's premier T20 competition came during the 2019-20 season.

In his short T20 career, the 23-year-old Western Australian has featured in only 14 T20 games. Green has already exhibited his all-round prowess in Tests but is yet to make a mark in the shortest format.

Green elated with his return to the club

Green will likely link up with the squad for six regular-season matches following the Sydney Test on January 8.

“I’m really excited to be back with the (Perth) Scorchers. The group have so much confidence in their own game, and I think they know how to win and can win from anywhere, and when you’re winning games, you’re having fun,"

“Perth fans missed out on so much cricket last year and you can see how much it means to the team to be back playing in WA in front of a really supportive crowd - it’s something I’m really looking forward to.”

Perth Scorchers' head coach Adam Voges sounded ecstatic at acquiring the services of the promising all-rounder for the upcoming season. The former Australian batter hailed Green's multi-dimensional attributes and expected him to play a crucial role for the Scorchers in retaining their title.
