Andrew Tye joins Northamptonshire for T20 Blast 2023

In a significant development, experienced Australian speedster Andrew Tye has joined Northamptonshire for the T20 Blast 2023. 

Regarded as a T20 specialist, Tye becomes the second player after Chris Lynn to join the Steelbacks camp for the lucrative tournament.

In his reaction, Tye expressed his excitement at joining the club and seemed determined to help them reach new heights in the tournament. 

"I’m very excited to be joining Northamptonshire for the Blast. They’re a good team that’s had success in the competition in the past so I’ll be hoping that we can recreate that success this year."

Meanwhile, Northamptonshire head coach John Sadler heaped praise on the ace seamer for his calibre and experience. He also explained how Tye could be an asset for them in the mega event. 

"To get AJ on board is really pleasing, he’s an amazing addition and gives our team a great balance. His experience and skill set is exactly what we needed and he knows what’s required to win games and win competitions too. He’ll be a super asset for us this season."

Tye recently had a brilliant BBL 12 campaign, scalping 26 wickets at a brilliant strike rate of 14.3. Considering his recent form and experience, we expect the 36-year-old to emerge as a trump card for the Northants in the T20 Blast this season.
