Covid-19 has hit the Big Bash League 2021-22 season after several members of Melbourne Stars and Sydney Thunder. A total of 11 players have turned positive results in the latest round of RT-PCR tests, and are isolating. This puts the league’s future into jeopardy with growing number of cases in Australia itself.
There has been a steep rise in numbers and the country clocked over 18,000 cases on 29 December. With festivities around, the number is likely to go higher.
The developments have put questions over the two immediate fixtures of the BBL one where Thunder are playing Adelaide Strikers, today, 31 December at 1:45 PM IST and the other one of Stars who are scheduled to play their next game against Perth Scorchers on January 2nd.
