Bangladesh to tour Zimbabwe in July-August for white ball series

Bangladesh have another international assignment on their hands, as they are all set to tour Zimbabwe for a three-match ODI and T20I series in July-August.

The aforementioned tour comes just a couple of weeks after the Tigers conclude their ODI series against the West Indies.

Earlier, these two teams were scheduled to cross swords in two Tests and three ODIs. However, as per the revised schedule, a three-match T20I series will replace the red-ball leg.

According to the draft schedule prepared by the two boards, Bangladesh is set to depart for the tour on July 22.

A warm-up fixture has been arranged for the visitors before the ODI series commences on July 28.

While the final two ODIs are set to be held on July 30 and August 1, the T20I series will be conducted in the first week of August, with all fixtures held in Harare.

Zimbabwe Cricket Board will release the final itinerary for the scheduled tour in the near future.

“We agreed on a date after consulting with the Zimbabwe Cricket Board. Zimbabwe will release the itinerary because they are the host country. Hopefully, they will release it within a couple of days,” Nizamuddin told the reporters, as quoted by Cricket Addictor.

Bangladesh will depart for Zimbabwe at the end of July, where we will play three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and three Twenty-Twenty-Overs (T20Is) against the hosts,” he added.

Bangladesh is currently locking horns against the West Indies in the T20I series. After a harsh defeat in the second T20I, the visitors will look to level the series in the final game.

The three ODIs will be held on July 10, 13 and 16. Hence, with the short turnaround time between the two series, they could rest a few senior players.
