Bangladesh Batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto rattles stumps in frustration

Things don't seem to be going all good for Bangladesh's Nazmul Hossain. At the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium today, the batter rattled the stumps in rage.

After Soumya Sarkar and Shamim Patwari's sessions at the net, Nazmul Hossain Shanto Shanto arrived at the net to practice but struggled to connect with the ball on several throw downs. Images of him smacking the stumps with his bat after missing a delivery caused him to lose his cool, and he lost control. The videos gained a lot of social media popularity.

Incident: Stumps rattled by Nazmul Hossain Shanto

Nazmul Hossain Shanto did not appear to be in the best of form due to his inability to successfully link bat and ball in today's practice session. He attempted to hit some lofted shots but kept missing them, which frustrated him.

Then one delivery hit the batter in the chest, which may have caused the reaction to the subsequent delivery. He again missed the next delivery, whirled around in wrath, rattled the stumps, and departed the field.

This incident amply demonstrates the batter's short temperament, who is also a member of Bangladesh's 15-man squad for the forthcoming T20 World Cup in Australia. Shanto's job would be vital as he will play the role of a backup opener, but his current level of confidence seems worrisome.

Nazmul's presence had also sparked concerns about the selection process given that he had lately been absent from both the Zimbabwe T20Is and the Asia Cup.

The cricketers for the Bangladesh team are currently working out individually rather than participating in any organized practise sessions. On September 25 and 27, respectively, the team will go to the UAE to compete in two T20 Internationals against the UAE.
