Lanka Premier League’s latest star Nuwan Thushara has tested positive for Covid-19 putting doubts over his availability for the Australia tour. Thushara, who is famous for his Malinga like action was scheduled to travel on February 3 along with the squad, but now is currently going through Covid protocols set by the Sri Lanka Cricket Board.
ESPNcricinfo reported that Thushara tested positive 6 days before and his next test is scheduled for Tuesday, 1 February. If he is able to return negative in the next test and then subsequently clear the cardiac and lung assessment from SLC, he would be cleared to fly to Australia.
Sri Lanka have a strong bowling attack that will be guided by Lasith Malinga for the first time. Malinga was roped in as a consultant ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia.
